Most every Saturday morning, I see Rebecca Sweetpea. My story, however, is on the Saturday morning when I didn't see her. That morning, I saw the Persians. We had great fun playing critters and eating cookies. However, I had come to see the Persians for a more important reason. We were modeling in Stella's next fashion show! Stella needed to talk to the Maples a bit before she took us to town. Skye and Lyra had something to show me. That morning, apparently, they had snuck the goldfish, which are a kind of cracker, up to the bedroom. I should note here that our goldfish are not entirely like yours. They have a fish, rather than cheese, flavor.
"I'm vacuuming your room!" called their mother.
"Oh, no!" Lyra whispered. "She'll find the goldfish!"
"There's just one thing left to do," Skye replied resolutely. "Take the goldfish to town."
How Lyra talked me into doing that, I don't entirely know. The goldfish escape would have been impossible, but Lyra was modeling a dress and a bag. Lunch that day was apparently all going to be goldfish.
It would have been all goldfish, had Harlan not been in a hurry that morning. The sandwiches and cookies Harlan had made for Stella had been made too fast. Harlan had put mayonnaise as the filling of the cookies, and raspberry cream as the filling of the sandwiches! Stella ran off to the Delicious Restaurant to get more food. While she did that, Laura came out with more lunch for us. While we ate that lunch, Stella was busy in the Town Manor getting ready for the show.
The fashion show was a great success. Harlan's refreshments, fortunately, had turned out much better.
As I was eating refreshments, Lyra came up to me, closely followed by Skye. "I set the bag down while I was eating. Now the goldfish are gone!"
To be continued...
Lyra and Skye wanted to eat the goldfish, but by the time they found the goldfish again, they were very stale and dirty.
The picture of Skye and me in front of the manor actually uses a background of a page from my supplier catalog.
I can expand on most all of my stories, so if you would ever like to see a sequel, just leave a comment.
It's so intriguing I need to know what happened to the Goldfish! One question: are they going to eat it?
I really like the story and the dresses were divine. Stella really knows her stuff! It's cool how you used the Calico Critters box as the background too!
Keep it up, Yosemite
